I am Omar Lopez. I am 19 years of age. I live in Sandy Springs, Georgia. I am a student studying applied computer science and my goal is to become a software engineer. My family consists of my father, mother, a younger sister, and a younger brother.

My current state of mind is happy and grateful. I am grateful for life, family, and friends. I try my best to always be friendly and welcoming to everyone. One trait that I deplore the most about myself is procrastination. It’s weird because I always tell myself to procrastinate less but in the end, it doesn’t seem to work. However, I know that setting small goals everyday makes me procrastinate a lot less and that works for me. This year of 2021, I will truly try to stay ahead and on track to stop myself from always rushing at the end to turn in assignments or projects. If I could change one thing about myself I wouldn’t change anything because I like who I am and even if i have flaws, I wouldn’t want to change anything because I accept myself for who I am. Jokingly, I would probably change my height to be one foot taller and play basketball to see if I am any good but then I read somewhere that taller people live shorter lives than smaller people so I’m good being five foot six inches.

My most treasured possession is a sky blue teddy bear from my baptism and a gold chain I’ve had since I was a baby. The reason those are my treasured possessions is because they have been with me since before I was able to remember. My favorite occupation is playing soccer whenever I can because the sport keeps me active, makes me sweat, and it cause my heart to pump rapidly. Additionally, I am really competitive when it comes to soccer so I always look at ways I can improve on myself and become a better teammate. I enjoy competing against other players and teams because they bring the best out of me and I always learn something new. What I consider my greatest accomplishment to this day is graduating high school and enrolling in Make School. High school was fun and I know plan to continue learning and progressing in life.

A historical figure I most identify with is Bruce Lee because I like his way of thinking, philosophy, personality, beliefs, and values. When I was younger, I attended Karate and that’s something I also like about Bruce Lee, he was a martial artist. My greatest influence are my parents because they raised me, taught me good from bad, and they’ve always encouraged me to dream big and to never give up. What I value the most in friends is loyalty and honesty. As a friend, I will be loyal and honest and I expect my friends to be the same way in return. Finally, my motto, something I believe in, is to always be yourself and stay motivated.
